Googling "clifton pizza louisville"

by jpdurbin » Sun Apr 26, 2009 7:36 pm

I decided to try their pizza and did not have a menu so I Googled "clifton pizza louisville". I see the first listing has an average of 2.5 stars out of 5. I read the first few and they all have 5 stars and mention clifton's then I see low ratings mentioning it as a pizza chain on par with subway with no creativity. I go back to the google search and see http://www.papajohns.com under clifton's name:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=clifton+pizza+louisville&aq=0&oq=clifton+pizza.

Glad I moved onto the second link. The pizza was great.

I read Robin's review, also listed and saw much lower prices. Might be a good idea to date the reviews.

Sounds like something I'd expect from Papa John's! They need to do something to get people to eat their pizza since it can't sell itself based on quality or flavor. I wonder how they Bambozzled Google to get the listing put in that way and be the first one?

Some of the best pizza in town. The Calzones are great. Prices reasonable. The large pizza is supposed to feed four, but I have never left without a go box.

Seems to get very little respect when pizzas are mentioned, but I find them great. Service is find.

Even has good music on some nights.

If you go, look on the left as you walk in. There is a neat mural that is probably never going to be finished.

A small patio in the back is ok.

I totally agree on the quality of the pie. Probably in the top 3 in town, my opinion of course. The lasagna is "funky good" also! Something about the marinara........

i've always been a fan of Cliftons, and think they've got some of the best pie in lousville, but the note of PJs, when you search charlestown pizza you get the same kind of results
in my opinion its the worst form of marketing, flooding the market with spam adverts so that anytime you key pizza into your keyboard PJs pops up very high in the rankings
it just makes the job of the conscientious consumer more difficult in my opinion

Google's original motto was purportedly 'Do No Evil'. Even the simplest of business models can be awfully hard to maintain on their scale.
