Craft Beer Festival, June 7th

by Ashley Isaacs » Wed Apr 22, 2009 2:07 pm

We are hosting our first annual Craft Beer Festival on Sunday, June 7th from 2:00-5:00 called the Great Flanagan's Beer Festival. We have aprx. 35 - 40 breweries sending representatives from all over the country to man a table and pour their own brews. Each table will be pouring 1-3 craft ales, so we could have up to 70 or 80 different brews. We will have the street next to Flanagan's Ale House closed off, so we will have lots of room! Each guest will get a tasting glass where they can try unlimited samples. Guests will get the chance to talk beer with representatives from the following breweries: Bells, Stone, Dogfish Head, Founders, Upland, Schlafly, Magic Hat, Delirium Tremens, Kasteel, Gulden Draak, Great Lakes, BBC, Alltech, New Albanian, Brownings, Brooklyn, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, Harpoon, Warsteiner, Spaten, New Holland, Shiner, Sam Adams, Duvel, and many, many more!

Tickets are $45 and go on sale to email subscribers on Monday, April 27th at 11:00 am. If there are any tickets left over, they will go on sale on Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00 am.

The generous nature of the Beer Goddess knows no bounds. I bought 2 tickets for this rain-or-shine event and look forward to the many beers and much frivolity. ;)

With Todd's Fest of Ale scheduled for the previous day, it is sounding like a tiring weekend, but someone has to do it.

Do you have any info on the Lexington fest? What breweries will be there? What the format is?

Here is a link to the Lexington festival: http://www.lexingtonbeerfest.com/ One of their guys had brought a flyer that we had posted in our door, but the soggy windy weather destroyed it.

We'll be at table #2 right near the entrance for this festival at Red Mile. Stop by and say hi.

We are also hosting a homebrew competition at our brewery this Saturday May 9, where local homebrewers set up right in our parking lot. Come by if you are a brewer or if you just want to chat and taste some local homebrew.

Jeremy, how did the homebrewer's competition go? Did you pick a style?

I'll be at the Lexington Beer Fest on Saturday as well. I'll stop by and see you Jeremy, and hopefully run into some of the rest of you.

Also, on June 13th Bridge Liquors will be having their summer kickoff with a beer and wine tasting. The cover is only $5.

I'm not sure if it's the same festival that I went to there last year (the cover was $15 then and there was no wine), but it was definitely a great time for the money. Does anyone have any more information on it?

It went very well. We had about 20 people set up in the parking lot, and 17 entries. We'll be picking the winner on June 15th. Roger, I know you had prior obligations last year. You interested in judging this year? I can PM you with details.
