madison, indiana....

by Becky M » Fri Apr 10, 2009 1:54 pm

we are heading out to madison, indiana this saturday my husband has to meet someone at 3pm and i thought it would be nice to have an early dinner while we were there.....we have been to madison before and really love it......i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where we could have dinner.....it would HAVE to be kid friendly......as i have about 30 of them.....ok......really i only have four.....but.......the combined energy of four children ranging in age from 5 months to 13 years....easily equals 30.....

we have not been there in a while....but....when we would go frequently.....prior to the two little ones getting here.....we went to some nice places.....and for the life of me i cannot remember the names....one was a lunch counter type of place....really cool......another time a little sandwich cafe.....really good as well.....we went to a bbq place that was awesome.....all of these were on the main street.....but i really cant remember the names....the only kid friendly one was the bbq place and we had gotten to know the owner and he was shutting down because he was moving to africa to start a business there.....anyway.....

so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great........

thanks

I get quite a few folks from Madison at my place and they have commented on the lack of consistently good places to eat there. The one exception is Red Pepper Deli. They started doing dinner and I hear it is very good.

Becky, next week, my Sunday School class will have its annual retreat at Richwood Plantation just outside of Milton, KY, just across the river from Madison. We always go to Bistro One for dinner on Saturday evening and have never had a bad meal. While the restaurant is tauted as Mediteranean, the chef/owner is a Cypriot Greek and this is as close as I can get to Greek food from Louisville.
