Son of a Sailor

Aye, she's a privileged vessel that true wind has brought to LaGrange. Dined there this evening with the pesceterian son. Odd, seeing as I was christened presbyterian and now am a practicing pastafarian, but I digress. We've been calabashed! Duncan had the Fish Platter and I succombed to the siren song of the Oyster Poor Boy. Rare is it to find a better po' boy than at SOS. 6 ot 7 large lightly dusted fried oysters on a good roll with lettuce and tomato slices. Succulent, juicy and bursting with the tang they are famous for. Duncan had two very generous filets on his plate. The fish tasted fresh and prepared with the same spare hand with the coating which really let the fish shine through. People were friendly, food delicious. Another keeper in the OC. We will definitely be back.

Been there a couple times, but it's been months since my last visit. Glad to hear they're still going strong, and I need to make a return trip soon. I firstly went around the time they opened the restaurant and what struck me were the ginormous portions. Upon a second visit about a month later, they had cut back on their portions. I've only had anything fried there, and they do a decent job. And I concur with the fried oysters; I would even put them on par with Stan's.
