Selena's In Anchorage (Willow Lake) Great!

by Phil Gissen » Sat Apr 04, 2009 11:24 am

Friday evening, Donna and I, after having fun drinking at Mojito, drove to Selena's for dinner. Again, the welcoming from the staff and the owner's Chris and Alan, two brother-in-laws who ran a restaurant in Tampa, was warm and inviting. The food was excellent, hearty, and tasted oh so good. We started out with their delicious crab rolls that we remembered from past visits. Donna ordered a savory etouffee and I had the special for the evening, a New York Strip smothered in Roquefort cheese. We couldn't finish the legendary bread pudding and had the two huge chunks packed to go. As we left at around 10:00, the place was still buzzing and the bar was filled. We shall return again and again................................

You make that place sound better each time you write about it -- esp. the NY Strip w/Roquefort....must make a trip soon....

We've been there many times and have always enjoyed the experience but that special you had makes me hungry just reading about it. We've always had their Creole specialties because they're so good and haven't ventured into trying any of the other items. Like you we always end up leaving with our bread pudding because we're so full by the time it comes to desert.
