The Squeez Bacon sushi made me shudder. Also, the fact that it requires no refrigeration is absolutely terrifying. Nevertheless, that's a great find Carol and I just might have to order some for the heck of it.

If anyone has any questions about what to eat bacon on, please see Steve P's post in the Louisville Kitchen Forum. He's going to love this.

Carol,

Thanks for the heads up on this product. It may go nicely with the two new treats I'm getting ready to roll out for Derby...Vienna Sausage flavored Pork Rinds Wrapped in Bacon and Chocolate Covered Pork Rinds (See: Great New Derby Treat in Louisville Kitchen Forum)...and Hey !!!..Don't any of you restaurant types go horning in on my idea. You think the folks from "Derby Pie" get on your a**...you've seen nothing yet.

Paul, the microbiologist in me makes me more than shudder at any product that has a shelf life of 12 yrs at RT--esp a meat product (with no additives)!!!

Steve, I think it is perfect for your Derby pork rinds???? I'm a KY native and never eaten pork rinds but I would maybe try yours, perhaps???

Blast! I'm starting to feel rather gullible. I thought it seemed a little bit out there, even for Thinkgeek, but I was willing to accept it based upon their former merchandise selections.

Generally speaking, very little about human nature startles me. I guess that also makes an easy target!

Ya know...I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was to get online to read the headlines. There was all kinds of news about April Fools this and April fools that...So I made up my mind right then that I wasn't going to be a sucker for this kind of stuff. Ten minutes later I'm responding to Marsha congratulating her on her week long Tuscany culinary excursion (April Fools !!!)...and eight hours later I'm licking my chops over liquid bacon. I have GOT to be the biggest sucker in the world. So if anyone is selling Florida swamp land...I'm buying <insert ignorant smiley> :-)

Steve, instead of viewing this as an embarrassment, we should look at it as an opportunity.

If the Squeez Bacon was a joke, that means we still have the chance to create our own formulation and corner the market. The payoff could be extraordinary.
