This is an annual event that the Southside used to box up. Now that's it's closed , again, I need to source this. CD

Indy's on B-way is awesome.

Indi's for the fried chicken. Their spicy recipe with their hot sauce is fantastic. Their potato wedges are also a great option, and I've heard good things about their mashed potatoes. I'm pretty sure they have green beans as well, although I've never tried them.

As for the pies, you'd have to look elsewhere.

I like Indi's but not for this occasion. Think traditional Southern. Also the trinity of beans, chicken and m.p.s need to all come from one place if the Pie Kitchen gets involved. CD

I thought that price sounded terrifically excessive, but I've come to realize over the years that such exorbitance and Derby weekend go hand in hand. Of course, four years of living on campus at U of L (which is perilously close to Churchill Downs) during Derby has also instilled in me the instinct to hide under a blanket and pray for daylight, which has the side effect of me not really knowing what goes on in Greater Louisville on the actual days of Oaks and Derby.

Yes, I've been there a few times since they re-opened under new owners, but last visit was before the holidays...I wasn't aware they closed (again)....

John I may be wrong but I was told by someone who follows their fried chicken that they closed, again. So it would be nice to not have to cross the river in the race to beat everyone to the house. CD
