Hey all!!

Does anyone remember the Food Network show "Two Fat Ladies"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Fat_Ladies

Was that not the greatest cooking show ever? I watched it religiously... I was so sad when it when off TV and when Jennifer died.

Now, the only cooking show I can stand to watch is "Good Eats". Alton rocks!!

I'm right there with you, Steve! "Good Eats" and "Monk" (USA Channel) are the only two programs I have set to always record on the DVR ...

Not exactly a cooking show but I really enjoy watching "Diners Drive-ins and Dives". I'd love to tour with Guy and eat at some of those places! They have some wonderful looking menu items, as long as the food police don't interfere! Good Eats is also quite enjoyable and informative, Alton certainly has a great sense of humor.

Alton Brown had to be separated at birth from Thomas Dolby. However, they are both mad scientists.

Loved them and miss the show. I didn't read the wiki entry, but I assume it mentioned that one died of cancer some years back. Wonder if they still crop up on BBC America ...

I preferred the Food Network when they actually had cooking shows on in prime time. I can't choke down those cake decorating contests and cook offs that I'm sure are much cheaper to produce, but far less interesting to watch.

Well said Steve. Maybe it's the curmugeon in me coming out but I've had it "up to here" with "Challenge" this and "Chop" that shows on the Food Network...and watching that goof-ball "Duff" on AoC makes me want to gouge my eyes out with my car keys....whooops...Sorry...there goes my "outside" voice again. Carry on.

LOVED 2 Fat Ladies. There was some kind of follow up program about Jennifer after she passed away. The network had actually fired her because her cooking habits were so dirty. (Constantly using food she'd dropped on the floor or licking her mixing spoons while she cooked, that kind of stuff.) They complained that they had to edit out so much footage per show that they thought they'd just go ahead and let her go making it a one woman show. Jennifer just kept showing up for work. Simply ignored the fact that she was fired. They finally just caved and kept her. How great is that! And what a disaster it would have been without her.
