St Pat's Day on Bardstown/Baxter

by Michele Cull » Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:00 am

If you are coming down to my neck of the woods (Original Highlands) to celebrate St Patrick's Day, please watch where you park! Don't park in front of JCTMS (The old Woerner, even older Atherton) before 4 PM - You will be towed. Folks start parking there at lunch, even though it is clearly marked no parking 8am-4 pm, and we have watched them tow a dozen or more cars every year. Also, please be mindful that this is a residential neighborhood for the most part. Blocking alleys, parking on the grass in front of homes and businesses and blocking the crosswalks & hydrants are no-nos. Have a great time and be safe! Off my soapbox now.

And if you're down on my end, at Bonnycastle, visiting my joint (Ray's Monkey House Coffeeshop), or Cumberland, or Za's Pizza, or Hideaway, or 360, you might end up walking a block, but I'd recommend Bonnycastle (go around the block, to Fernwood, then back towards Bardstown on Bonnycastle). The worst I've had to do is park on Fernwood. Exactly one block walk.

But yeah, they do tow around here. During the rush hour. Never seen it any other time. But they do ticket pretty regularly if you don't feed the meters during the day....

Cheers and happy Saint Patty's Day..

We have several new beers at Ray's, and five beers on tap (three local). We're not really a bar environment, but if you like good beer in a coffeeshop environment with couches, books, and good music, we're the place to be. Bluegrass Jam every Tuesday - including tomorrow!! I never cease to be amazed at how awesome the people who come here are. Really.
