Jonathan Gold

Anyone read about this a couple of weeks ago? He is a food critic for LA weekly I think. Anyway he won a pulitzer for one of his reviews. They were speaking with him on NPR where he talked about how in depth he goes when he does a review. He talked about going to a restaurant 17 times before he thought he could write a negative review about a specific LA restaurant. I hope he has a budget from the paper. Makes you appreciate good food eating at a bad restaurant 17 times. Imagine it Robin, Cheddar's 17 times.

I find that quite ridiculous. You can get a pretty good feel for a restaurant in a few visits. And it sure doesn't take 17 to figure out it ain't that good.

I don't know. I see it to be impressive and considerate. I wouldn't do it but I appreciate that he does. Going that many times gives you a better sense of the average operation and production of the restaurant.
