NABC's Bank Street Brewhouse open this weekend.

by Roger A. Baylor » Thu Mar 12, 2009 11:44 pm

We'll be open 11 - 11 on Friday and Saturday, and noon - 8 on Sunday; closed Monday, and back for Tuesday - Thursday 11 - 10. The following link (scroll down a bit) has the lunch menu, which is also the dinner menu for the time being, along with photos. It's important to know that we really only planned for lunch the next two days, so the evening menu will be very short. Soup and frites, anyone? I understand they go well with beer. We all deeply appreciate the kind words of those who've dropped by to eat and drink "soft" this week, and I apologize for the absence of personal responses.

We're still putting the pieces together. Thanks for understanding.

Until the brewery is delivered in April, all the beer is being brewed at the original Grant Line location.

Thee land line phone is 812.725.9585. The address is 415 Bank Street in downtown New Albany ... perhaps by tomorrow, we'll have maps and directions up on the web site. I'll be working on those.

Thanks. Now I'm headed to the airport to pick up my friend from Denmark, who gets to observe a pub/eatery open, first hand. Luckily, he likes beer.

Congratulations Roger, I know and the team have put a ton of work into this, and its great to see this phase of it come to fruition.

I stopped in Thursday to chat with Roger, and the place looks fabulous. A very modern feel, but the crowning touch was being installed while talking with Roger. Two huge pieces of +100 year old wood were being put in place for the stand up bars. They are simply great looking, and the best part was the re-use of them rather then sitting in the basement of the old Speakeasy. That folks is true recycling!

Edit: I thought it might be appropriate to direct those that don't read Roger's Potable Curmudgeon blog to his latest postings that have pictures of the Bank Street Brewhouse, as well as the aforementioned Lunch menu as well. I'm going to try and sneak out of here today to drop in for some Pomme Frites today. http://www.potablecurmudgeon.blogspot.com/

I've edited my initial post a couple of times to get the information up to snuff. The most important thing to remember is that we're not completely finished even if we're open, especially as pertains to the kitchen.

I am not finding a online menu for Bank St. I thought I got linked to one last week and now cannot find it. Main question is will mussels and frites be available this Friday at lunch service? Thanks
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

We're working on getting the menu on line. This one is largely correct: http://cityofnewalbany.blogspot.com/200 ... house.html

Mussels and frites for lunch should be firm any day we're open, until about 2 pm or so.

We're trying to build toward the eventual snack menu between meals, and the distinct evening menu. Currently a reduced lunch menu is available in the evening. Chef Josh is working hard, so stay tuned.

Roger, I'm having a serious craving for some pommes frittes, but I can never get away from work for lunch. Are the frittes being offered on the reduced dinner menu? If so, I'm heading that way tonight.

P.S., I stopped in for a Hoptimus on Friday night, and the place looks great. Have you guys cranked the garage doors open yet?

For the next couple of weeks, availability of frites will vary in evening. The idea is to have them all the time once the kinks are worked out. Until there is certainty, you probably should call: 812.725.9585

Doors were open yesterday, and I suspect today, too.

Please don't flog me - but are the frites fried in lard?
