Local Celebrity, Marsha Lynch

by Laura T » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:40 am

So I'm sure Marsha has seen this or at least knows about it, and maybe she's being too modest to mention it here, but I think it's pretty awesome that she is getting reviews like this one: http://www.consuminglouisville.com/2009 ... n-cafe.php

Makes me feel even more like a big jerk for not having tried any of her cakes yet!
Congrats, Marsha!

Congratulations Marsha!

I was actually lauding your virtues to my girlfriends younger sister last night. She's interested in becoming a pastry chef and is thinking about coming up to Sullivan next year.

Marsha made an outstanding cake for my lovely bride's birthday. Beauty and taste from both the cake and the chef. Viva Marsha!

Laura, thanks. And thanks to Michelle at Consuming Louisville for the write-up. I specialize in making people's wives and girlfriends happy

But y'all are silly. How am I supposed to fit my fattened head out the door later today? Anybody know a good, skilled doorway-widener?

We'll be needing to get to know a doorway widener after we eat enough of your cake, to make room for our ever-expanding waistlines! :P

That cake looks fabulous, Michelle! Can you please describe it! :)
When in doubt, add more wine.

Marsha can describe it better and in far more accurate detail than I can but I'll give you the general info. It was a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chambord cream cheese icing. And it was so, so good. Not to mention beautiful. There isn't enough praise for the good job that Marsha did.

Michelle's got it nailed, except that the filling was chocolate fudge frosting studded with fresh raspberries.

Mayan Cafe did a good job of plating it, too - they even put flower petals and fresh raspberries on the plates! Michelle called ahead to ask if it was okay to bring in a cake from elsewhere and they were very gracious.

Yeah, I forgot to comment on the lovely monogram "B" on the top, but that was very awesome by the way.

Holy cow Marsha that was beautiful! I'm going to order a special cake from you for when my daughter returns from London.

Carla, thank you! What month will that be? Find out if she likes mango flavored things. I am dying to try a Mango Dreamsicle-flavored SOMETHING.

It will be..... when I get my income tax refund back! I'll ask her about the mango. (Of course, I could just eat it I suppose... 8)
