Our little family (you remember, 1 vegetarian, 1 vegan, 2 carnivores) descended upon Seviche last night for SIL's birthday. 2 of us had a firey seafood stew of a coconut/lime/red chili broth holding tuna, salmon, a huge diver scallop, a large shrimp and mussels. It was served alongside macadamia rice. It will definitely "light you up" and that's a very good thing. The fullness of the flavors was superb. SIL enjoyed the mahi mahi tacos as usual along with a seviche served in a half coconut. I didn't get any, and have no idea which seviche it was, but the presentation was magazine photo beautiful. DD had a spread of veggies and couscous that was most graciously prepared by the kitchen for a vegan dinner. And she was made to feel welcome and not even a nanosecond of raised eyebrow at being vegan. In fact our server (no name, but she was excellent) related that her friend was also vegan and she completely understood what was needed. Those of us with out of the mainstream dining choices are sometimes made to feel, well, really out of the mainstream, but I digress. Overall the meal was most excellent and we left full and happy. And the place was full which was very good to see in these times.
Now, the tiniest of nits to pick. I understand mood lighting, but it was freaking dark in there. I had to hold the votive candle up to my menu to read it. OK, maybe I'm getting old, which is my problem.
Anyway, we had an excellent dinner with a gracious server and host. (Anthony came out to say hello.)
