I agree with you somewhat. I think that a deep dish or stuffed(yes they are different) have grown from an Italian American spinach pie that was popular around Chicago. I feel its just as fair to call it pizza just as much as you would the NewYork version. Its hard to really call anything other than a Pizza Napolentana a real pizza.

Please note that I am a fan of thin crust Chicago style, but as a native feel the need to defend the other.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

I guess that makes the Refrigerator pizza at NABC a thin bread bowl filled cheese and toppings. No complaints though! :wink:
