Restaurants fighting back

by David Lange » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:07 am

I saw this interesting article on MSN this morning which shows how restaurants are fighting back against the recession and the trend of Americans downsizing on their dining habits. I have seen the same actions that our local restauranteurs are using and I applaud them for their long suffering and their patience in riding out this downturn. I also applaud members of this forum who have expressed their support for our local restaurants by their verbage and their patronage. Let's all keep it going.

Food Network icon Mario Batali and his partner, Joe Bastianich, have reduced their nine-course grand tasting menu at Del Posto by $50. It'll still cost you $125, but to some gourmets, that's a deal.

Man, what I wouldn't give for a Road Trip to New York to try that tasting menu right now...
