"Local Brews and Local Foods" beer dinner at the Windsor

by Roger A. Baylor » Fri Feb 13, 2009 11:17 pm

For those unfamiliar with downtown New Albany, the Windsor occupies the space formerly housing the late, lamented Bistro New Albany. Chef Justin McMillen won the recent shrimp & grits throwdown, proof that the crew at the Windsor is doing great work, not to mention Isaac manning the bar. There are ten quality drafts and top-shelf liquors. Here's the beer dinner preview, courtesy of Tish "World Class Beverages" Dean.

I've edited the preceding to include the price: $55 per person, service not included.

Awesome. Justin's shrimp & grits has definitely heightened my interest in The Windsor, and this looks like a good excuse to put on a disguise (I'm thinking a floral frock and an Easter-style bonnet) and wander on ovr there.

I'll see you both there. This is the first chance I've had to get to a beer dinner in way too long, and my first chance to get to the Windsor. I'll be looking for the bearded man in the bonnet Robin if you make it over there.

I'll be there as well. After all the positive things I've heard about the Windsor, I can't wait to try it.

There sure are a lot of Indiana beers for "local brews". :)

It is interesting what happens when you cross a state line. I would never consider 3Floyds (as great as they are) to be *local*. But it seems reasonable for an Indiana location to do otherwise.

Maybe we should do a Beer Dinner and Costume Contest (or throwdown). :D Seriously though, we're looking forward to the dinner, and it should be great time for all. Meanwhile, I'm still recovering from the butt-kicking that was Valentine's dinner.... Hope to see ya'll next Monday!
