Lunch Lessons at Limestone Restaurant

by Gayle DeM » Fri Feb 13, 2009 9:26 pm

Once again, I have to give kudos to Jim Gerhardt. :D His running dialogue while preparing the three courses of “Lunch Lessons” is both informative and entertaining. The food is superb. Today's meal featured Oyster stew with Andouille Mashed Potatoes, Alligator and Shrimp Sauce Piquante and New Orleans Praline Pie. They were all divine, but I think I could almost live on this version of Oyster Stew. Then to top it all off, it has to be one of the best foodie bargains in Louisville. I know that Corbett's has a three-course lunch for $20 and that Campbell's Gourmet Cottage present excellent cooking classes for $45, but "Lunch Lessons" combines both for $24, including tax and gratuity.

I can't wait for next month's lesson "Open Ocean." You can be certain I will be there early!
