Best Fries/Frites in Louisville

Vote! I'm personally jones-ing for L&N's....they double-blanch them in lard like the good lord intended. Whose are your favorites?

Among those listed, I voted for NEC based in large part on the volume of fries they serve w/their entrees--very tasty and they don't skimp...but I'm also partial to the "Skillet Fries" served up by Bristol B&G.

A tough call, Marsha. A lot of darn fine frites/fries there, and it's hard not to go for L&N. But Caffe Classico does 'em Belgian-style, in the cone, and they are da bomb.

Palermo Viejo will get my vote (those tasty ribbons of potato soaking up that chimichurri goodness...drooling) - with L&N close second.

Thanks, Marsha....must go with Bristol, but NEC gets a strong Honorable Mention.

I'm with Amy! Palermo Viejo gets my vote. I didn't even have to think about this one.

My lord intended them to be blanched and fried in duck fat

Flannigan's has the best french fries but I truly LOVE their sweet potato fries. Also, Shady Lane has fabulous crinkle-cut fries--not usually a fan of this style fry, but do crave the one's they serve. We stopped at Zepplin the other day and the fries were very good--coated with corn starch (?), crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

oooh, I love crinkle-cut. I think they just have more surface area for fat.

What's weird about this topic is that almost everyone carries some sort of french fried potato, and whendone right, they all can be awesome. It's when done wrong (and a lot do it wrong), that you take notice. I love a perfectly fried potato...L & N, NEC, Lou Lou all come to mind.

I almost never eat fries not because I am a snob(which I can be) but because I love them so much, and, really, I'm plump enough as it is. The only place I order fries, and I do so every time I walk in, is Mojito's. The sweet potato fries with smoked honey make me weep.
