They wanted a neighborhood joint, very casual and just something down home. Irish Rover is closed on Sunday (bummer) so as I was trying to get an idea as to exactly what they wanted I asked, "Like Flabby's?" "Perfect!" my brother answered.
5 of us went out, had 3 orders of fish, fried chicken, chicken wings, hot pretzels (with some wonderful wasabi hot, brown mustard), fried cabbage, 4 cole slaw, red cabbage, 4 orders of rings, some german potato salad, 2 pitchers of beer, 2 colas all for less than $70. And we brought home a box of chicken to boot. My brother was in heaven. There was nothing fancy about anything we ordered but everything was grand. The young man behind the bar (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was terrific. We paid and thanked him for a great meal that hit the spot perfectly. He generously gave my brother a Flabby's hat which will, no doubt, become his new favorite hat. We had not just a great meal but a memorable evening.

We should do a Flabby's/Nach Bar/Seidenfaden's offline. Or we should organize an offline for the Spring Schnitzelburg Walk - Jessie? Do you know the date?
