Just watched WHAS 11 and Roger was featured regarding yet another smoking ban initiative in Indiana. Was that a Croupier in hand? Elector??

Er, thanks Dave ... Josh tipped me off. Just now writing a column about Cascades hops, and getting thirsty.

The existing establishment off Grant Line Road allows smoking on the pizzeria side and the pub bar. The entire front room of the pub and the entire Prost seating area are smoke-free. The new Bank Street Brewhouse will be smoke-free because the seven principal team members who're doing the work voted such. Three of them smoke cigarettes and I smoke cigars, but in consideration of what we're hoping to do with it, I wanted it to be democratic. The vote was unanimous.

I appreciate WHAS letting me promote myself and the business by interviewing me, but I probably won't watch the film. Television's about talking for five minutes, then seeing 10 seconds of it on the air. That's fine, nature of the beast and all that, and I know that my position on smoking can't be summarized in that brief a time. I've no idea whether my comments made sense, and to be honest, I rather hope they didn't, which would accurately reflect how muddled the entire topic has become.

And good hearing from you, too. You'll have to come visit Bank Street when the time comes (soon).

All of this talk about smoking bans has made me curious about everyone's opinions on such matters. I fully agree with Roger that it would be difficult to summarize anyone's point of view effectively in 10 seconds, so why don't we carry this debate over to the All About Louisville forum, since such policies are intimately connected with the River City and its neighbors. In particular, I'm intrigued to know what you think Roger. I'll post a thread over there shortly.

Thanks RIchard.

Also, I just posted the thread in the aforementioned forum. Robin, if you think it belongs somewhere else (such as the off-topic forums) feel free to move it. I was torn between the two locations.
