The reincarnation of the old Ricks into Gilmans Point is no more. I stopped in for a drink last night and was told new owners had just taken over. I briefly met one of the new partners and he told me they would be changing the menu immediately and sprucing up the place. He described the fare as "Steaks, Chops, and Seafood". Just to be clear......... they are open for business. No downtime during the transition.

Oh yeah! My buddy's dad just bought the place. They're good people. He's been wanting this for a long time. I need to get in there and say hi. I'll report back when I do!

That's very good news. The short-lived effort to replicate Rick's without Rick just plain sucked. I hope the new owners will kick it up a notch, ideally by trying to do their own thing and not just be a mirror image of Rick's without the quality.

My friend is actually the chef. He's a pretty smart guy with good taste buds. As long as he has the creative freedom, I'll bet he puts together a decent menu.
