Frankfort Ave Trolley Hop still on for tonight

by Ellen P » Fri Jan 30, 2009 1:29 pm

Despite the bad weather, the FAT Friday Trolley Hop along Frankfort Avenue and to the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center will be held tonight, as scheduled.

Many retail shops, galleries and restaurants will have entertainment, special sales and offering food and drink specials.

Events include the annual Mardi Gras Ball at the Mellwood center, 1860 Mellwood Ave. Admission is $3, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting United Crescent Hill Ministries.

During FAT Friday, free trolleys run from Johnson Street in Butchertown to Frankfort and Stilz avenues, with a stop at the Mellwood center. Trolleys will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

For information, go to http://www.fatfridayhop.org or call TARC at 585-1234.

That's sort of nuts. People need to stay off the streets and let the repair crews do their work without having to worry about frozen limbs and wires falling on people. And as I am typing this the noon news is telling everyone to stay off the street unless it is an emergency.

Wait, isn't procuring good food and good drinks an emergency?

Not that I'm going out there, but I know a lot of people are starting to get cabin fever and are willing to do anything to get out. Also, its probably better to have them hopping the trolley instead of driving everywhere themselves.

Yes, but generally they're driving to the Trolley stop and home afterward. And the Trolley stops running well before the Ball ends. planning.
