Pre-theatre menu

by Wayde H » Tue Jan 27, 2009 12:02 am

Hello all. My wife and I are going to see Wicked this Saturday and were wondering if any other restaurants offered a pre-theatre menu other than Morton's and Vincenzo's. We've never been to Morton's, but have tried Vincenzo's a couple times and weren't really impressed. Thanks.

We ate at Proof before seeing Wicked. Just inform your server that you have theatre tickets and they'll provide faster pacing. Seriously, more than half the restaurant left at the same time - about 20 minutes prior to curtain.

Z's Fusion is right around the corner. Even if they don't have a special pre-theatre menu, I'd bet they'd make sure to get you in and out fast enogh if you warn ahead of time.

The RiVue expedites your pre-theater meal. And when you leave to go to the show, you can walk through the parking garage without fighting the elements which is directly connected to the KCA building and the Galt House.

They'll also give you some theater snacks in a chinese takeout box to take with you. A very nice touch. I posted a review of our pre-Wicked dinner at Rivue, FYI (we had a fantastic experience there).

Revue is my choice for pre theatre.......you can park, dine, take the leftovers to the car, see the performance, and scoot out with very little fuss.

L&N Wine Bar and Bistro offers a pre-theater menu Mon-Sat from 5:00-6:30. We offer a three course meal (house salad, choice of grilled salmon or sirloin, and a creme brulee desert for $26. We are also located less than 5 minutes from the KCA.

We didn't have the same experience, unfortunately. Even though we arrived on time for a 6:15 reservation, told both the hostess and server that we were going to Wicked, we had to ask a manager for the check and missed dessert due to our server doing the disappearing thing. Actually, we could see him, but apparently we became invisible... Food was good.

Thanks Len, we would definetly consider L&N, but we are actually thinking of trying somewhere we haven't had the pleasure of dining yet. We have been to L&N and were extremely pleased with the food.

Also thanks to the other posters for your help, but I think we are going to try Varanese as we have not tried it yet, and just tell them that we have to make the 8:00 show.

Ward, Our reservation at Proof was for 5:30. An hour probably isn't enough time, even expedited.

Thanks Leah,
I made the reservation for 5:30, so that it would give us almost 2 hrs since the show is at 8:00

The Oakroom offers a 3 course pre-theater menu for $45.

Inquire about it when making a reservation -as well as when you need to leave- we would be more than happy to accommodate any guests with time restraints.
