Very sad. I really regret hearing this. Regret the loss of any local indie, of course, but John and Norma are particularly nice people ... and the've been active on the forum. Best wishes to them wherever life takes them next.

They are truly the kindest people I've met, and it breaks my heart. I hope everything works out OK, they poured all of themselves into that place, and it was La Grange's gain. I just wish more came out to support them (and our other local indies) rather than going to Applebee's and Ponderosa!

FYI, if you Jefferson-Co. folk love Historic LaGrange, please come support our shopkeepers! We have had four places close within the last 2 months and I'm afraid there could be more. Come have a great lunch at Delizie Italiane, enjoy a beer at the Rover, buy books at Karen's or gifts at any of our fine shops. We have a wonderful florist (Blooms) and even a great tattoo parlor with a renowned artist. I love my town and don't want to see it fade while Walmart thrives.

I will be in LaGrange Friday to have lunch at Son of a Sailor and also to hopefully pick up a cheesecake from you. I'm doing my little part.

Terrible loss. I wish them all the best. Where ever they land they will bring joy to others I'm sure.

I seriously regret that we never got around to trying Norma Jeans. Given what folks have had to say about them I'm sure it is our loss. BTW Andrea, we agree with your sentiments 100%...La Grange is a wonderful town with some wonderful businesses. Any idea what will go into the former Norma Jeans ?

I was a regular customer of Kaelin's "Trackside", and admittedly a bit dubious when "Norma Jean's" opened, but quickly became a fan and patron.....VERY sorry to see them go.

It is truly a great loss for the OC. I wish it had made it but the times sunk them and lack of community support finished them off. This is truly the hardest service industry to make work. My heart goes out to Norma and John and wish them well on all their future endeavors.

Historically, I think many eclectic dining options have struggled to gain a foothold in Oldham County....when one sees the amount of business regularly generated by restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, Ponderosa and the QSR outlets it's not difficult to assess where the preferences lie for mainstream OC diners...there's a perception that Oldham County is an enclave of affluence, which should permit more upscale establishments to thrive, but those who live here know that's really not true....while high income areas do exist within our county (mostly along the US 42 corridor), many of those people live close enough to patronize existing restaurants in Louisville and NE Jefferson County, versus LaGrange.
