Boynton Beach, Florida dining?

by Laura T » Tue Jan 20, 2009 4:34 pm

I figure it's worth a shot to ask you wise foodies. . .Robert and I are off to Boynton Beach, Florida for the rest of the week, and I was just curious if any of you know of any good places to eat in the area. Budget-friendly is always good but we're also thinking of treating ourselves to a nice lobster dinner as well, so all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Go right down I-95 to the Atlantic Ave exit in Delray Beach. Atlantic Ave. has many locally owned options, and it's a great place to take a walk after dinner. For a romantic meal, I like this place, just around the corner from Atlantic on Swinton. http://www.sundyhouse.com They have an excellent brunch buffet, and I hate brunch buffets. I had to be dragged there by my Ft. Lauderdale relatives. Once there, though, I discovered some of the most beautiful gardens I've seen at a b&b, including an incredible pool system that uses no chemicals (they have live fish in their swimming pool), and fresh, beautiful food. If you go, get the mimosas, made with local oranges.

For a big breakfast I can recommend: The Pancake Hs. in Delray (esp. the Dutch Baby) and also a place in what I believe is called Worth Park off A1A going North towards Palm Beach. The entrance to the park is at an intersection with a light. There's a large sign and park parking on the beach side. Head towards the beach, go around the park building and its hidden on the beach side. It's small, old and the interior is filled with pine paneling like Hasenour's or Pat's. But they have wonderful over sized breakfasts with great prices. And if the weather cooperates, the beach side walls will be open to the sea! It's really cool. CD
