Jasmine Oriental- Or One Good Thing About New Jersey

by MarieP » Mon Jan 19, 2009 5:27 pm

I was going to post this several months ago, but I just realized I never got around to it! I was up in Medford, NJ visiting my grandmother, and she, my dad, and I ate at this wonderful oriental restaurant called Jasmine! It was some of the best ethnic food I have ever tasted! It is located at 175 Route 70 in Medford, which is 20 miles east of Philly. The menu itself is a sight to see, as it is incredibly long. It includes Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Korean.

We began with crab rangoons, which where crisp and creamy and savory. The sauce that came with it was exceptional, as can be said about all the sauces we had there.

Next, we had the chicken mushroom coconut milk curry soup. It was phenomenal! (Or is Oriental food PHOnomenal?) I will have to admit...I tried this later at Simply Thai, and I was a bit disappointed with their version.

Then, we shared two large meals...I honestly can't remember the name of the one dish, which was good in its own right, but the sea bass and eggplant dish we had was incredible!

To top it all off, we each got a free orange as a sweet and healthy ending to our meal!

It was a tad pricey (somewhere I'd go for special occasions) but it may be just the fact that it's in NJ and not Louisville.
