I believe that covers all of them in the metro ... further out, isn't there a good one in Bloomington?

Brewpubs, et al.

by Roger A. Baylor » Fri Apr 27, 2007 10:19 am

If it is published as scheduled, my next Beer Shots in LEO on May 2 is a brief capsule of each of the five in metro Louisville, as listed previously above.

Bloomington has two: Lennie's/Bloomington Brewin, and Upland. A fellow in Columbus, IN is in the process of installing a very small kit at the Columbus Bar (I think that's the name). Further up I-65, Oaken Barrel does business in Greenwood.

There's one in Evansville (Main St./Turoni's). There should be one in Madison (gotta work on that), but when you're there, visit Steve Thomas at the Thomas Family Winery and drink his apple cider -- marvelous.

Thanks Robert. As well as everyone else for the list. I'll look for that article Roger. My long range goal (5 years) for FBP is to add a second location as brewpub. So I need to start doing some research. I know brewpubs kind of sprang up around the country and not many made it. It seems those that did, did the food well. Since we've been doing the food for a while, and by time I get the capital together for a second store -- hopefully I'll have that part down.

Unfortuately I've only visited BBC and Cumberland Brews. I need to put some gas in the car and go exploring these other places. I even usually walk by Brownings because honestly I'm not a beer drinker. I love my bourbon.

Do they actually do brewing at the 4th Street location?

I'm pretty sure they don't. Kegs are delivered from BBC St. Matthews.

Scott, if you know you're coming over NABC's way, let me know so I can plan on being there. There's more to discuss here than is merited by the interests of the forum, and better done over a beer (no bourbon at our place, but BBC and Browning's make barrel aged stout).
