First pictures are up!

I got to post my picture first, and Jesse H-I has just posted another one. Everyone from HotBytes who joined the group, please take time to have your picture taken this week. We want the pictures to reach a critical mass before we start sending links to Bourdain's "people". If you need help posting, or just don't want to be bothered, just have the picture taken and then e-mail it to me - I'll do the rest!

Also on tap: A group photo at the Downs with the Jumbotron displaying our message. Stay tuned for details.

I do not have independent confirmation but I was told today in a meeting of folks who deal with the arts, events, festivals, etc. that Tony Bourdain will be here as part of IdeaFestival this Summer. I remembered this thread and thought this info might help rally your cause. Good Luck on your quest!

Thanks, Amy. I had heard September, I guess I need to track down the dates.

Frankly, though, it's been kind of a disappointment. Everyone signed up, and then literally almost nobody posted any of the photos for the photo campaign. *sigh* But I haven't given up yet.

Yes, you. I'm looking at all of you that signed up and then never posted a photo.

Louisville's annual Idea Festival will take place Sept. 23-26. This year's speakers include celebrity chef and author Anthony Bourdain, "Close to Home" cartoonist John McPherson, Esquire magazine writer A.J. Jacobs and Shakespearean scholar Marjorie Garber.

In addition, the first 85 people to purchase an All-Access pass will also receive an invitation to attend the private reception with Anthony Bourdain following his event at Whitney Hall on September 25!

From all accounts, it looks like Fieri's looking into the project, so I doubt Tony would repeat :(

I wasn't able to generate enough momentum with our photo campaign, and the movement just sort of died away. Boo.

I'll still take five minutes alone with Tony, though - and a row of tequila shots!
