Help get Tony Bourdain to film No Reservations in Louisville

by Marsha L. » Mon Jan 12, 2009 1:41 pm

Okay, in my quest for world domination, I have created a "Facebook Group" devoted to convincing the Travel Channel to film an episode or segment of an episode of "No Reservations" (Anthony Bourdain's show) in Louisville, KY. If you are a Facebook member, please join here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=44437048735.

I'm treating group memberships as "petition signatures" - but I know they won't come here just because we want them to. We have to give them a LONG list of reasons that Louisville would be an interesting stop for their show.

If for some reason you do not want to join Facebook just to join the group, you can still help by posting location ideas and brainstorming right here in this thread. Keep in mind that "No Reservations", while it centers around food, is not simply a culinary show - it's also a travel show. Think visually, like a director! What would make interesting subject matter for this hypothetical episode?

Since I thought of it, I'm claiming dibs on being the local "fixer" (the person that shows them around and arranges things when they're in town), so be nice to me if you're a fan, maybe we can do a group outing with the crew if we succeed in getting them here.

I'm thinking any show here would almost have to center around Derby, but I'm open to being persuaded otherwise. Now, it'd be nice if we could get it together in time to convince them to do it this May, but I think we have to be prepared that this may be too short of a time line, so we may have to shoot for next year, or perhaps we could do something during the fall meet. I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

Join the group! And invite everyone you know! Thanks in advance

Don't worry - it could never be accomplished without HotBytes! And I'd already put this website as the identifying website for the group before you said that! I should probably ask for your retroactive permission, huh Robin? Whoops.

Not that they're the same caliber, but "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" should film here too.

And if they do, I'll follow Guy Fieri around the entire time just to make fun of his goatee. He's kind of the quintessential douchebag, but I still enjoy watching his show.

Nononono! You don't need to ask my permission for NUTHIN, Marsha. :)

But it's a good thing when visiting media figure out that HotBytes, not Gannett, is really the place to come when they need information about food and drink in our funky little town.

I wasn't kidding about making you that logo hat ... 8)

I have often thought Sergios would be a good stop for Bourdain.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

I don't have it yet! But if they ever become available, count me in! I look awful in ball caps though. Perhaps something in a Kangol or a Fedora?

Who doesn't?

I have managed to dig up Tony's personal assistant's email address, and sent her a link to the group, asking her to send it along to Tony and also asking her if she has any advice about who makes such decisions where the show is concerned.

I'm not messing around! 8)

Join, recruit and suggest locations! There's a thread with location suggestions on the discussion board for the group, or you can post them right here!

Viva HotBytes!

P.S. - the Facebook group is now at 33 members! Those of you that are recruiting your friends - thank you! And don't forget to suggest they join this forum, as well :)
