Wild Eggs-is it still always packed?

by Ellen White » Sat Jan 10, 2009 8:55 pm

The last time we tried to go to Wild Eggs, there was an hour and a half wait. This was on a Sunday. It has been several months ago. I would like to give it a try (we went once, but didn't really like it, but are willing to try it again).

Are they still always packed on Sundays?

I was there on Friday morning for a Board mtg/breakfast. We have pretty much permanently scheduled all our breakfast meetings there. We LOVE Wild Eggs!!!

Speaking of Wild Eggs, does anyone know when the second location in Westport Village is going to open? The originally said the first of the year but I haven't heard anything since. I'm sure opening a second store with all the crowd situation in little.

According to their website, http://www.crackinwildeggs.com/main.html, the new location is opening on February 2.

Yes. I work at Norton Suburban and we can never ever eat there on our lunch break. there's almost always a crowd standing in the lobby.

Apparently the same is also still true of Toast. I called there on Sunday and they were on a 55 minute wait. I'm glad business is good for these places, but it still seems weird to me that someone would wait that long for a table anywhere.

I tried to go there on a Saturday around noon over Christmas break and it had a line out the door.

Just drive by the Olive Garden on any given night...I find it fascinating that people would wait for a chain restaurant that long.

Sidebar: I can wait about 30 mins. max for dinner, but I have 0 tolerance for lunch or breakfast waiting. I wonder why that is? And that 30 mins. tolerance, I better like the place a lot. I don't begrudge places for being busy, I'm happy that they are, but if they are that busy, maybe they don't need my table, maybe there is another place that is not so busy that needs my table that night. I'll come back some other night, perhaps.

Happy to hear Wild Eggs continues to succeed. Someday I'll have a morning free and will experience it for myself. (but I'll not wait for a table  )

John and I were lucky enough to get invited to the soft-boiled opening of the new Wild Eggs in Westport Village last Friday night. You can find a gallery of photos we took here: http://picasaweb.google.com/TheCupcakeM ... directlink

We had a great time, and the food was scarfed up just about as fast as they could bring it out! What we did get to eat was really, really tasty, though.

I understand the decor is a lot like their original store (although we've never managed to get in - we always seem to think of it on Sunday mornings or early afternoon). It has a nice, buzzy vibe - cool egg art, check out the gallery!
