J. Gumbo's Rings in the New Year and Gears Up for Mardi Gras!

From now until Mardi Gras (Feb. 24) J. Gumbo's Frankfort Avenue (the Original), Lyndon Lane, and Baxter Avenue will be getting you ready for Mardi Gras in style. All three locations are offering $5 big bowls every weeknight after 5pm and $10 All You Can Eat all day Saturday and Sunday!

In addition, J. Gumbo's Frankfort Avenue, the Original, is offering 3-Course Cajun Dinners for two (and four) weeknights after 4pm and all weekend. The Dinners include appetizers, entrees, dessert, and beverages. The Dinner for Two runs $20; the Dinner for Four: $35. And to keep the good times rolling, Dixie and Blackened Voodoo longnecks are only $2.50!"

WOW, this is great. I love their food and this sure fits my budgetary constraints right now. Thanks for the heads up. I never see them announce these specials on their website. I have always wondered why.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Maybe I should just start a new thread on this but I was thinking about it and here's a thread on J. Gumbo's. Is it just me or does anyone else find the attitude of the woman who works weekday lunches at the Frankfort Ave location (how do I put this politely) a little surly? Maybe I made her mad once and she's never forgotten me but when I go in there (at least once a week) I feel like I'm really putting her out by coming in.

We were in the other day, Mike, and I had no problem with the lunchtime service. That said, people fall on a broad spectrum from outgoing to shy, and I think we may be dealing with a more reserved personality here. But surly? I didn't get that, not at all.

Actually, I really like that lady. I don't know her name, but I was in there last week asking if they could accomodate a birthday party, and she was very eager to please. J Gumbo's is a big fave of mine.

Mike,

I had a similiar impression when I was there for the first time last week, but maybe I misread...

Wow I have never had that problem at the Frankfort location, and I tend to go there instead of the other locations (even though it's a bit out of the way since I moved away from the neighborhood). I tend to like their food better...Billy told me that it's probably due to the fact that the franchise stores now make up their own batches of food instead of recieving it from their location. Btw, has anyone tried their Chicken Ton Ton? It's something he made up exclusively for the Frankfort store and one of my new favorites!
