I assume you've got all these, but since they were hanging out on my website, it was a simple copy and paste. :)

The City of Louisville was founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark and is named after King Louis XVI of France.

Zachary Taylor (1784-1850), 12th President of the U.S., grew up in Louisville and is buried here.

The University of Louisville, founded 1828, is the country's oldest city-supported college.

In Louisville in the 1870's Anton Busath created Modjeskas, a marshmallow dipped in liquid caramel. Yum!

The Brown Hotel in Louisville originated The Hot Brown--an open-faced turkey and bacon sandwich topped with rich cheese sauce.

Built in 1914, the Belle of Louisville is the oldest operating Mississippi style sternwheeler steamboat in existence today.

The Cheeseburger originated at Kaelin's Restaurant on Newburg Road in 1934, when Margaret Kaelin's husband asked her to put a slice of American cheese on his hamburger.

"Happy Birthday to You" was written by Louisville sisters Mildred and Patty Hill. Originally called "Good Morning to You," it was later changed to this tradition birthday song.

The public saw electric lights for the first time in Louisville, when Edison introduced them at the 1883 Southern Exposition.

I guess I was misleading in my use of "trivia" in the question, sorry. (Thanks for 'em, though!) I am looking specifically for the categories I listed, and this is helpful. In my love for Lotsa Pasta, Doll's, Rainbow Blossom and Burger's, I hadn't really thought of Aldi or Nuts. (Didn't it move recently?)

DD and I discovered the same thing! After we drove around the block to find it. Did I miss a sign or is there a sign? Paul, I think you need a sign!

Robin Garr wrote:Essentials:

Lotsa Pasta, Doll's, Valumarket are the onces I regularly use.
Free Things to Do

Walking around Bardstown road or Frankfort avenue, especially once it gets warmer out. Great for peoplewatching and some places have bands outside to listen to. (<3 Avalon's jazz band)
Where to Get a Beer

Flanagan's on Baxter, Dundee Tavern on Dundee, FABD up on Frankfort. I've heard lots of good things about Sergio's but I haven't made the trip out there.
Where to get a Late Night Bite

Other than the Twig I don't know what places are open late anymore. Working an office job has kind of killed my late night running around.
Where to get a Latte

Heine Brothers is where I usually go, but Quill's was closer to me when it was open, and if it ever reopens in the spot next to Flanagan's I'll start going there again.
Outdoorsy Thing to Do

The Riverwalk, Jefferson Memorial forest has hiking and camping, Cherokee Park has...a little bit of everything really.
Where to Take Fido

Not having a dog the only place that springs to mind is the dog walk area in Cherokee Park.
Funky Local Businesses

Lynn's Paradise Cafe, ear X-tacy, Wild and woolly video

Edit:
where to sing karaoke

Hikes Point Bar & Lounge!
where to play pool

Bankshot Billiards down on Market.

Aaaah, I can't believe I forgot Barret Bar.

Is Bristol still open late? Last time I wandered up there was after Derby during the early evening, but I remember hitting it at midnight back in the day.

I once had dinner with Andy Kaufman at the Bristol, because there was nowhere else to eat steamed vegetables after his wrestling gig at the Gardens, which ended after 10:30 P.M.
