Oh - one more thing. Not food-related, but funny gift-related video.
Beware of the Doghouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twivg7GkYts
It might be perceived as a bit sexist, but I think it's funny if taken as intended. Some Gene Poolers were offended, so you've been warned.
This was linked on the Gene Pool on washingtonpost.com. Any of you follow Gene Weingarten's writings there? He has a chat thing called Chatalogical Humor on Tuesdays, a column called Below the Beltway, and this Gene Pool forum thing (not nearly as good as LouisvilleHotBytes forums). I like the chat mostly. His humor writing is pretty good, a little uneven; he writes some nice feature stories about unusual people and situations; he also has written books on old dogs and hypochondriacism (two different books, not one).
Example of his off-beat style (not humor, though) - he once got a world-class violinist to play in the Metro station to see if anyone would notice he's not an amateur - Pearls Before Breakfast http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01721.html

Hubby gave me more silicone baking mats. I love those things!! Makes cleanup sooooo easy. he usually won't give me kitchen implements without express instructions, he know i can be a bit "fussy".

Best place in all of NY (IMHO, of course) to get a chocolate malted.
Sounds like a wonderful food extravaganza. I can't wait to hear the details.

I got some new Silpats, which I am in dire need of.
I got some chocolates and cheeses from the Abbey in Bardstown.
I got a very nice gift certificate to Williams and Sonoma that is now earmarked for a couple of pieces of crueset.
I got a VERYYYYY nice gift certificate (actually a note) earmarked for either Raw or some other unique restaurant of my desire. Ideas???

In all fairness, I would not dock a restaurant a single point in a review rating for something like that. I might make gentle fun of it, but it's trivial compared with food, mood and service.

A convection oven/glass topped stove. Our old oven came with the house, tilted toward the front and drove me nuts.

Robin, what on earth are you referencing? I was pointing out that MarieP got a load of chocolate goodies and I'd be happy to help her eat it.
