It isn't new, but Jonathan's (at Gratz Park) never fails. Simply wonderful everytime.

Have you tried Azur in the Beaumont Center? Great place, exquisite food.

I second Jonathan. If you don't eat often in Lexington, you really should try Dudley's (http://www.dudleysrestaurant.com/). I've never had a bad meal at Portofino either (http://www.portofinolexington.com/). A la Lucie is nice for a pretty legit French bistro meal (http://www.alalucie.com/), though it can get very crowded and loud. Le Deauville was great the last time I was there (at least 3 years ago - http://www.ledeauvilleresto.com/ - the then/original owner/chef married a Lexington gal, left France, and moved to Lexington, as the story goes (a friend's parents knew him)). I think he left the restaurant a year or two ago, so I have no idea if it is still as good.

Brad, while I agree that all places you mentioned are quite good, I think the newer Azur has them all beat including Jonathan's (to which I do think everyone and their mothers have been).

Of course, while not in Lexington, you could always meet your friend at Holly Hill in Midway.

I will definitely have to try Azur on my next visit, then.

Just looked at the Azur menu - impressive. The Rabbit Azur got my mouth watering. . .

The rabbit Azur is GREAT! Unlike anywhere in Louisville where I've ordered it, they actually bone most of the rabbit, so you actually spend your time eating tender and perfectly seasoned meat, not picking bones out of your teeth!

We've only been there in Summer, when they have entertainment on the veranda, so suggest you get reservations (since the space triples in summer by using two outside areas)

Chef and co-owner Miguel Ramirez is one hell of a guy. I think you will be pleasantly suprised with Azur. Please let us all know what you think.
Advance confidently in the direction of your dreams and endeavour to live the life which you have imagined and they shall meet with unexpected success. HDT
