MERIDIAN CAFÉ MAKES MENU CHANGES

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, December 1, 2008 –

Chef Mike Ross of Meridian Café has made some exciting updates to our eclectic menu. The updates improve upon old favorites, and offer new enticing options for keeping with the goal for fresh, delicious breakfast and lunch dishes.

A la Carte breakfast items have been added to the menu, to allow choices for a more traditional breakfast. The selections include:
Single eggs, sides of meats, (i.e. chicken apple sausage, and bacon) toast, scones, and steel cut oats with topping.

Meridian Café's lunch menu now boasts features such as a “Napa Tuna” sandwich: 6 oz. of pan seared and sliced Ahi Tuna fillet, placed on a bed of Bibb lettuce, avocado, and Sweet Thai chili sauce on grilled Brioche, a shiitake mushroom Panini, (replacing the dated portabella mushroom), and a “Manhattan style” optional (a full pound of pastrami) upgrade to the “Richard’s hot pastrami.

New dessert offerings include a Blueberry crisp, an individual ramekin filled with a sweet blueberry mixture, and topped with an oat and nut crust. Also, a new Milkshake, “the Memphis Flash, vanilla ice cream, soy milk, peanut butter, banana and bacon! A favorite food combination of Elvis Presley, and sous chef Steven Coke!

Meridian Café is open Mon-Sat 8am- 3pm
Catering and private parties available on request

Although some of us Meridian old timers wish some of the older items were still on the menu (the Brian and the West Coast Tuna), my brother-in-law says the new Napa Tuna sandwich is REALLY good. My daughter absolutely loves the blueberry shake! Plus, as always, the Meridian is so accomodating, if I'm really craving a Brian, I can add and delete to the Elliott and have almost the same thing. So, even if you see something on the menu that's not vegetarian, you can always ask for it without meat or, in my case, without cheese. I love this place!
