Watch what you wish for, because miracles can come true. Oh sure, I don't complain as much as say, Robin,
about driving all the way down Hurstbourne to get to the Gordita Trailer, but it's a haul, at least 20-25 minutes for me and all those freaking lights make it awful... Today on my way home from the familial Thanksgiving dinner I found a taqueria trailer in my hood! In front of Choi's market, on Lyndon Lane, across from Donut Castle, has set up a little trailer they are calling Tacos Toreados. I of course zipped in, wheels squealing like Mannix, probably scaring the crap out of them. The trailer itself is badged with Taqueria Mi Rancho in big letters, but they apparently haven't gotten around to putting their name on it yet. They have the bones of a website set up
http://www.tacostoreados.com/. All the things I love, including elotes en vaso, which I had to try immediately, even though I am totally stuffed from Tday dinner. Corn is sort of like dessert, isn't it? Good good elotes, lots of heat and cheese. Tacos made with all the usual meats, asada, adobada, barbaco, leguna. Tacos are $1.50, tortas are $5.00, quesadillas are $3.50. They have been open only a week. Open from 6pm till midnight every day except closed on Monday. And OPEN TONIGHT folks if you want to try them out on Thanksgiving evening. Nice friendly folks with a good grasp of english, thankfully, as my spanish is poor. I am soooo tickled I have a place like this so close to home. Now if I can just get DakShin to open a place across the street...
