Now Serving homemade soup at Ray's Monkey House Coffeeshop

by Nimbus Couzin » Thu Nov 27, 2008 2:14 pm

Hi everyone,

Well, the subject says it all...Starting tomorrow, Friday, we're serving soup at Ray's Monkey House coffeeshop. Homemade and yummy, just what you want for the chilly winter (late fall) weather. We're starting out with a hearty vegetable soup with seitan chunks (extremely tasty). Served with fresh bread. We're still debating whether to go with Blue Dog bread or bake up our own, so we'll decide by tomorrow I guess. But it will provide a tasty option for people looking for veggie options to warm up. Having "taste-tested" this initial option extensively, I feel I could live on it. We'll be serving rotating options also (I have some killer lentil and split pea recipes that come to mind).

We're currently offering Sammies and wraps from Amazing Grace also, and we're looking to roll out hot veggie food within the next couple weeks. I'll let ya'll know when the big day arrives...

Cheers and happy turkey day!

Hey all, the soup is going great. I forgot to mention that it is only $3.75/bowl, served with bread. It is a 20 oz. bowl, so probably about 17-18 oz serving size. Are we charging enough?

Cheers, hope to see ya'll soon
