Choi's "Coming Soon"

by Eliza W » Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:57 am

Choi's on Lyndon Lane has a sign saying that they'll be serving food soon. I couldn't read the whole sign without being rear ended in the heavy traffic, but noodles and bebimbop (spelling might be wrong) were two of the items.

Is it in Westport Villiage or up by the railroad tracks?

Past the railroad tracks by Thortons, across the street from sonic. Love the place and can't wait to see what they will do.

Adding to Stephen's response, it's a fairly good-size Korean-run Asian market that's been around for a few years. It would be a delight if it adds Korean dishes.

Ok I know the place you are talking about. I've never been in there. I need to check it out as an ethinic market.

I am SOOOOO excited about this. I became addicted to Korean food when I lived in Michigan. I've been waiting for Choi's to reopen for over a year now! They are the only place I've found in town that makes Dok Boki, which are delicious chewy Korean rice cake in a very spicy sauce. Yummy.... I want some now!

Not close to you but two excellent Korean restaurants are Lee's and Koreana. Lee's is on Bishop Lane close to Newburg Rd and the Watterson. Koreana is on Preston in a shopping center that I don't the name of. I prefer Lee's. Customer base at Lees' in the evening is almost all Asian.
