Tuesday Night Tasting at DCE - beer 101

Hey folks!
tomorrow we'll be continuing our Tuesday night tasting series with Beer 101.

This is going to be a great introduction to beer and the wonderful differences between ales and lagers.

i will be going over basic beer processing and ingredients.
You should be able to walk out of the evening knowing :

What's the difference between an ale and a lager
What's the difference between a top-fermented and bottom-fermented beer
What are the key ingredients need to make beer.
What's the difference between a pale ale and an india pale ale and an imperial pale ale.

We'll be tasting several beers including:

Bitburger Pils (Germany)
Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold (Cleveland)
Franziskanner Hefe-Weitzen (Munich, Germany)
Samuel Smith Pale Ale (Tadcaster, England)
Dogfishhead 60 minute India Pale Ale (Deleware)
BBC Dark star Porter (Louisville)
New Holland's The Poet Oatmeal Stout (Michigan)

This is the first class in a series of beer tasting classes designed to provide a social setting in which to learn to appreciate the wonderful world of beer!
See you Tuesday at 7pm.
$10 cost is all inclusive and includes snacks provided by bon Vivant Savant.
