Ramsi's Sunday Brunch Buffet

by MichelleJ » Mon Nov 17, 2008 10:41 am

We checked out Ramsi's relatively new Sunday brunch buffet yesterday and I was pretty impressed. I'm not normally a brunch buffet person but I can imagine this becoming a part of my regular Sunday breakfast rotation.

They had a real variety of breakfast and lunch options though I mostly ignored the lunch stuff (well, except dessert). It was incredibly vegetarian and vegan friendly. My vegan friends have frequently complained about the lack of good vegan breakfast options in Louisville and though the Ramsi's buffet is only one day a week it's certainly a nice addition for vegan eaters. Vegan french toast, vegan pancakes, vegan oatmeal, vegan breakfast tacos, etc.

The highlight of the entire buffet for me was the ginger plaintain french toast (which happened to be vegan). So sweet and rich with caramelized plantains that syrup wasn't even needed. They also had a veggie version of pigs in a blanket (which was vegan as well) that was really good.

There was plenty for meat eaters asincluding eggs, bacon, sausage and some kind of fish. Sorry, I didn't pay as much attention to the meat offerings.

The price was $12.95 for adults ($4.95 for kids) and that included free orange juice or apple cider.

Agreed, this definitely sounds good. But are there any made-to-order stations? Like, say, an omelet station? That would be good. And is it Sunday only?

Woohoo!!! I've always hated that they don't open until 3pm on Sunday considering I go out to eat pretty much every Sunday late morning/early afternoon. I'll always love my Ramsi's.

I just wanted to dig up this old thread to add my comments about my long-awaited first trip to Ramsi's Sunday brunch buffet today. It was so awesome! I wish I had fasted all day yesterday in preparation, though, because my eyes were way bigger than my stomach. Everything I had was fantastic, though. Good eggs, biscuits & gravy, perfectly fried potatoes, stir-fry veggies, fresh fruit, crazy dessert spread. . .and it's a vegan's paradise. I was vegan for about 6 years and I just wish this brunch had existed then. Great place for everybody to eat way too much. Oh, and they do have a separate omelet station now. Great price for all of that goodness, too!

I am a huge fan of the brunch at Ramsi's!

The past couple of times I've been, there was an omelet station in the larger room at the bar. I haven't been in several weeks, but I would be very surprised if they were no longer doing this.

I have also found that they are wonderful about going above and beyond for vegetarians. They usually have Eggs Benedict on the buffet, and if asked, they have always been happy to make me a fresh one without the ham. The first time they did this, it was completely unasked for. They offered to do it when they saw my father (who is not vegetarian but doesn't eat ham) picking one apart in the buffet line. Now, when my family goes, we almost always get them! Delicious!

We were there Sunday Morn also! Love it! I'm less enthused about the dessert spread - great volume . . .but what can I say, I'm picky about desserts.

My wife & I stopped in the other day to have lunch. We were both in the mood for tuna tartare. We didn't know that they offered a buffet on Sundays (we usually go on weekdays). We weren't in the mood for a buffet. We ended up going elsewhere. The place was packed. I think this was a smart move on their part.
