I think the Low Country Boil would go over better in this area, from a business perspective. But personally, I would also love the oyster bake, and probably the clam bake. They all sound good to me, but I like almost everything, especially seafood!

Sidenote - my sister and I grew up in WV, and I didn't really think people I grew up with had a dialect until I moved. I've lived in KY for years, and now have a bit of a southern drawl, and she's been in NY for years, and has a definite combo NY-Not NY accent. It's kind of funny. And there are different terms for things in different regions, like Hoagie, Submarine, Grinder. And where my sis lives, they call them sneakers, but I call them tennis shoes. Stuff like that. They still harass her up there about the ways she pronounces some things.

Scott,
You just broke my heart. Are you there now? I'm a little home sick. Where are they having the oyster roast? I'm from the Cherry Grove area but I know a lot of people in Murrels Inlet. I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years in the Myrtle Beach area. I do miss it down there. One of the reasons I opened this Calabash Restaurant in LaGrange was because I was so home sick and missed things like She Crab Soup, fresh East Coast oysters and good old Calabash Style seafood. Having this restaurant here makes me feel a little more at home.

The Oyster roast was held in the parking lot at Capt. Dick's marina...at the end of the Marsh Walk Weather was mid 70's food was great...beer was cold. As always so much fun!

Cheers,

Well, you guys have helped me make up my mind. I'll do the LowCountry Boil. I should be able to crank that out next week.
Thanks for the feed back.

Did someone say she-crab soup? Yum yum

I was in Cherry Grove last year -- I had a great time at one of the "local" restaurants there - Duffy's Seafood Shack. Great atmosphere -- like being in New Orleans.

Then another day i went down to Pawley's Island and had some really fine she-crab soup, at Louis'. I love the low country. I didn't know you had opened up a Calabash restaurant in LaGrange! I will be there soon!

That's great. I'm from Cherry Grove and have been to Duffy's many times. Used to own 4 restaurants down there. Drunkin Jacks has some great she crab soup in Murrels Inlet. I just couldn't find any seafood up here like I was used to so I just had to make a place here. Look forward to seeing you here.
