Pizza Puffs

...you know, the junky, flaky, fatty, fried type that you see at Convenience Store/Foodmarts next to the taters sometimes?

Anyone know where I can regularly find them besides Lonnies?

I love those things! :D

Adrian - do you mean, like, "Pizza Rolls"? Sorta like Geno's, that we all ate from the microwave when we were teenagers? I haven't had Lonnies. I'm intrigued!

No Marsha, totally different. I love me some pizza rolls too though...

These are more like a Puff Pastry..........you usually only see them at Convience Stores that have a Fried Food/Deli section...........you know the gas stations that have a 'nicer' deli area complete w/ Burgers, Corndogs, Chicken, Tater Wedges, etc...

Lonnie's does have them though, he lists them as Prarie Island Pizza Puffs (I believe). My wife is a territory manager w/ US Food, and I searched her database, but they don't offer that brand.

Pretty sure they're just frozen pastries you throw in the fryer...........but damn good! No luck w/ any internet searches...

Okay, I found the company that makes them, and their brochure!

:D ...and after seraching the web, it seems like they are a Chicago Staple. Perhaps why Lonnie offers them....

Interesting....I lived in the Chicago area for 5 years + 10 years of visits back to see my folks, and I've never heard of them either....
Love those Lonnie's Red Hots, though!

I have always found them to be most popular at the south side hotdog joints. They can be found all around the city though. When I was a kid the owner of the Skyway hotdog house(95th street under the skyway) would always give my brother and I some for cleaning up the parking lot.

And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

so it's a hot pocket.

there's some kind of new "pizza roll" that some company is pushing in every issue of Pizza Today now. It looks like an egg roll with pizza fillings.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.
