Jungle Jims & Ikea

by Bob B » Mon Nov 10, 2008 9:59 am

We went on our semi-annual trip to Cinci to Jungle Jims yesterday with friends from Germany. For a little side trip we decided to stop by the new IKEA home furnishing store. We were like kids in a candy store! We stayed at least 4 hours. It was incredable and the prices were unbelievable. Ikea is a company out of Sweden that specializes in european decor that is functional and attractive. The furniture is very well made, no press board crap. They had so many cool ideas... you have to check it out when your in the area. It's just a short distance from the Jungle Jim exit. We are going again in 3 weeks..... w/ a truck. BTW- no sign of a recession there.

Too bad that these chains don't come to Louisville instead of some of the junk that does! After all we are the 16th biggest city!

Ikea is incredible!! We went there after a Red's game this summer and we were amazed! I wish we had a truck when we went. Louisville NEEDS an Ikea! I got several cooking items and look them all. You can't beat it.

Funny that this was posted now - hubby and I went up for an Ikea & Trader Joe's run on Saturday. No sign of a recession is RIGHT! BOTH places were packed. How I miss being 20 minutes away from both instead of an hour and 1/2, but we got there regardless.

Came home with a cooler full of frozen & refrigerated food from TJ's -cooked the Peppercorn & Garlic marinated pork tenderloin for dinner last night, with a Cherry Hill Pinot from Oregon. YUMMY! Of course hubby had to have IKEA Swedish meatballs w/ ligonberry preserves for dinner Saturday night!

Thinking that we should organize a foodie caravan next time around....now that gas is under $2 a gallon!
