Has anybody tried...

... the new hookah bar at Theater Square? I haven't smoked in over 30 years but I must admit I'm a bit intrigued.

Do they have smoking outside? How does that jive with the smoking ban? Is it a "dry" bar? Just wondering.

They have smoking only outside and maybe in the evening after they stop serving food. I don't think there's any alcohol sales at all. Maybe bottled beer, but I'm not sure. I don't know how they get around the non smoking thing.

I entered a hookah "property" in Pittsburgh last night. I do not smoke, but it was VERY cool. I was even allowed to take pix, which I did. There were huge bags of tobacco hanging around, and more. A LOT more.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Hard to say....I believe the Louisville smoking ban makes a reference to banning cigarettes, cigars, pipes and other "combustible" tobacco products....perhaps the City regards hookahs as falling outside that defintion....some jurisdcitions around the US have allowed hookah bars to exist despite local smoking ordinances through special permit exemptions (sometimes tied to the business selling a certain percentage of alcohol or tobacco)....or the gang at City Hall just hasn't caught up with them, yet.....
