Thai/Vietnamese for lunch

by NicoleC » Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:30 am

My MIL is in town and suggested Thai/Vietnamese for lunch. We usually just get take away so I was looking for suggestions on good food and ambiance that serves lunch. Preferably Highlands/Crescent Hill or close. Thanks!

My fave place for lunch is Thai Siam in the Gardiner Lane shopping center. I crave it at least twice a month.

In Crescent Hill, Thai Taste on Lower Brownsboro (just a couple of blocks west of "Dirty" Kroger) is a nice little family run Thai place with a decent small lunch buffet, or you can order from the menu.

No disrespect to Becky - all opinions are equal - but I am less whelmed with Thai-Siam.

I'll second Thai Taste. My favorite pad thai in town. Not much ambiance but the folks that run it are very very nice.

You can try La Que right by Wick's and The Pie Kitchen in the highlands.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Simply Thai, in St. Matthews, is my favorite Pad Thai in town........by a longshot.

Creamy goodness, and their special 'green sauce' you can order on the side just puts it over the top for me. Definitely one of my favorite meals in town........and you can even enjoy a sushi roll or two while you wait for your food (they are a bit on the slow side, but well worth it).

None taken. I haven't been to Thai Taste. I'll have to check it out. I do like Simply Thai too, but I was thinking Highlands.

I tried La Que a few weeks ago and found the service quite lacking. Confused orders and forgotten appetizers. Food was nothing special either. Probably won't be back considering the other options in town I have not tried.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
