I've been here long enough to remember that Marty did used to post on this forum pretty regularly. When he started doing reviews for the CJ he disappeared. What happened?

Is Marty a lurker now? If so, come on out and participate, I'm sure the forum would appreciate your participation.

I was under the impression that it was a conflict of interest to participate here once he became the food critic for CJ. Robin?

That would be hard to believe that he can't make comments here. I don't they would put in a contract that "you can't post on LHB"

I join the crowd in welcoming Marty back if he chooses to come back.

I assume, though, that the editors at Gannett at least gently discourage him (and other columnists) from participating here, preferring to have hits on their own Website. We've seen a few other CJ folks including Lisa and Matt (?) from Velocity on the forum occasionally, and I think Sarah Fritschner posted once or twice. But no, it would not surprise me at all for the Features editors, at least, if not the higher-ups, to "ask" Marty and others to limit their online participation on food issues to the CJ's Website.

I hope I'm wrong, but it's hard not to notice that Marty's participation here ceased almost at the exact time he accepted the CJ reviewer's post.

That would be understandable if there was some type of online participation on food issues on the CJ website but I don't think there is any.
