Aw, and I was looking forward to a violent bloodbath that would eliminate the need for an orderly election. I live in Old Louisville, and I was surprised by the number of students showing up EARLY to vote. Let's just hope we can make this thing work.....

Here in J'Town, I was voter 896 at 10:00 a.m. ... and we're the smaller precinct! I have NEVER IN MY LIFE seen a polling place so busy ... I stood in line, but it was a short wait and well worth it to see Americans exercising their freedom to vote. It sure is going to be a long day, though, waiting for those results!

I'll be leaving at 4:45 to go vote. Luckily, I work 10 minutes from Bon Air library, where I vote.

In Jeffersonville this morning at 6am there was a line out the door. By the time I finished voting there was no line.

I am kind of a big deal.

Marsha L - At which Highlands location did you vote? We go to the fire station across the street from the farmer's market parking lot. Just wondering how the lines are there.

I just left the St. Elizabeth location on Burnett and only waited five minutes. Guess I got lucky!

Lyndon City Hall, from what I'm reported by Mom, was "busy, but moving very well". Yet another 15 minute report to report.

Crestwood was wrapped around the building this morning @ 6am. It was only about 15 people deep when I came back at 9:30am.

So much for well layed plans...10:15am found the line in west Buckner 40 min. long with every soccer mom in town (with kids in tow) in line. It was like "romper room".

We're allowed to vote early up here without having a reason, so I voted three weeks ago. It was the first time in my voting life I didn't actually go to the polling place on election day, and I'll have to admit I miss that feeling.

That said, I was still affected by the election as my commute to work was extended by 15 minutes this morning because of the crowds lining up to vote in our little town (population 7,600 or so).

I had planned to vote at 10:26 (decided that was the perfect time between work rush and lunch rush), but ended up voting around 9:15 because of a change in plans. There was not much of a line at the firehouse on Preston (south of Ormsby), but I did notice a few voters asking questions about the ballot. Who knows what the questions were about, but my optimistic side hoped they were questions from first-time voters.

There were three people in line with me who had never voted, and two were in their 40's! I love voting so much, I voted in the 1988 elections with the worst hangover of my life - I literally had to triple-check my ballot.
