Chicago Gyro

by DeeDee D » Mon Nov 03, 2008 8:43 pm

I was out on Brownsboro Rd today at lunch time and stumbled upon Chicago Gyro! What a wonderful find! I had the best authentic Gyro ever! The place was no nonsense but has some great food! I had the Gyro special for 5.99. Gyro w/ fries. Drink extra. The lamb on the Gyro was fall apart tender and very flavorful. I'm thinking now how I can get back over that way for lunch again! Has anyone else been to this place?

Yes, I have. I like the owner. I mentioned something about him n another thread about the place billing itself as 'the best Philly Cheesesteak in town.' I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and have been back with similar results.

It's a great help to readers of the forum and the restaurant if address or general location(close to the old bank that used to be across from the old diner and two doors down from the old gas station which closed in 1963, at a minimum lol), phone, website (if available). This allows the forum to be able to find the place and the restaurant owner to get more sales.

How would you like if if someone dangled the best authentic Gyro ever in front of your pie hole and then suddenly took it away

Lower Brownsboro Road, more or less directly across the street from "Dirty" Kroger.

You use the phone book Ed? I always post contact info AND I EXPECT THE SAME!!! If I have to look up contact info for everyone else's reviews that means I am getting the short end of the stick here.

If the url would have been posted as above it would have only taken me one click, instead it took me one click, typing the search and another click. I could have saved 2 clicks here!!!

You guys just made me laugh so hard I almost spit my breakfast yogurt through my nose, and you know how painful that can be.

When we met with the forumers (HotByters?) last week we were given a quick overview of the Louisville way of giving directions. Thanks to our misguided GPS, I am acutely aware of where the "dirty Kroger" is. I'm just not sure where it is in relation to Sears...

I'm sorry we didn't sample the gyros, but opted instead for sliders from White Castle. In retrospect, my bad.

It's just behind and a little to the left of the old Sears! (plus a little)

Brian, I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but like I said in my post, I just stumbled upon this little place. Being from Indiana, I wasn't really sure of the exact location and honestly, I thought if anyone was interested in going, they could look it up for themselves, at least that's what I always do when I want to check something out further on here. Next time I make a post, I will be sure to add the address or some type of land maker to help you out! :D You should really check this place out! It's great!

Are they open during dinner/night hours, or just for lunch?

I checked the website, and there were no hours listed.

This isn't their official website, but does provide hours. Hours: 11am-9 pm m-f 12-8 sat. sunday closed. The best thing would be to call and inquire.
