Any idea where on State Street??. There's a cool place that has suddenly become available right across the street from Shmitt furniture (Man, I hope I spelled that correctly.....)

According to the "Five Guys" website the location will be 2221 State St. in New Albany. Google Earth puts that right next to Target. No idea when it will open, the website just says "Coming Soon".

I'd be interested to know if it is Shmitt, Smith or Schmitt. On my mom's side, our folks came over from Germany and settled in New Albany. Their name is Schmitt. Maybe they had something to do with the history of the city. On a side note, can't wait to taste the burgers and fries.

Dave ... geez ... we try to do good things over here, and they get exceited about a chain burger place ...

Yeah, it's Schmitt. And, the location is on State by Target, in the same building where the Superpetz store is. They want to put another one in on Charlestown Road, but are busy at present trying to fleece the city for the sewer tap-in fee (love those chains) at the State St location, so who knows? They might take their five guys and go home.

Hmm ...

I also heard they are putting a Chik-Fil-A in the parking lot in front of SuperPetz. Is that true?

Yes. I buy pet supplies there, and was watching them dig a couple weeks ago.

Weird - On our recent trip to West Baden Springs, we met Louis Schmitt's (owner) sister in the bar.
