Out of towners want Hot Browns

by David O. » Wed Oct 22, 2008 9:29 am

I've got some out of town guests coming in, so I asked them if they had any special requests while in Louisville. The answer was that they want to try a Hot Brown.

So, besides the obvious choice of the Brown Hotel, who has a good hot brown on their menu that would make Louisville proud?

Thanks,

David

The Baby Hot Browns at Westport General Store are quite tasty, as is everything I've ever had there. The drive there this time of year would be wonderful as well. I'm sure you'll get many more suggestions and you won't go wrong with any of them.

Lynn's hands down. Decadent and rich, using real carved turket instead of the shaved deli sheets. This is the one.

If you're venturing out into the Bluegrass Region, Holly HIll Inn has a wonderful hot brown.

Isn't it this weekend that the Brown is having a fundraiser for the KY Humane Sociey by selling Hot Browns? 85 cents + a $15 cover charge. The $15 goes to the KHS. Go get the original and help homeless pets

depending on how your out-of-towners arrived, and where you are located. I know when I travel by car, the last thing I want to do is spend alot of time in another car.

Im personally not a big eater of Hot browns, but my wife has enjoyed them at both Turkey Joes, and at Goose Creek Diner. Also, Ive read, and been told that The Bristol makes a fine one.

My vote is for Bristol. I have also tried the Hot Brown at Lynn's and felt they used way to much turkey.

Have to go with the original on this one. Visit the mothership and then you can compare all the others.

Thanks, you all are the best. I see I have a decision to make, maybe I'll make this Colorado bunch make it. They are all great suggestions.

Thanks again.
